Here are some my highlights from the Year 2023

On the career side, things were a little… unsteady. The first half of the year was mostly spent in various short term contracts, until my old employer was able to hire me back.

Other than the usual CRUDdish web-app contracts, one of the more interesting contracts I have done was for Redbrick.ai. I was able to Improve their 3D rendering functionality - It was fun going through old computer graphics papers and fix/use the implementations of various algorithms like Marching Cubes, Content Aware Slice Interpolation, LiveWire Segmentation.

My prior experience in C++/wasm/OpenGL really came in handy here. I learned a lot while diving deep into the VTK.js rendering pipelines, itk-wasm build system, annoying react-typescript codebases there.

On the semi-personal front, I became more active and involved in the local drone racing community. Until this year, I was a quiet lurker in a lot of online forums. Always kept a very low, private profile while still helping out dozens - if not hundreds of strangers online.

This was the year I decided to be less invisible. I actively organized meetups, went to races, became one of the organizers India’s first Spec Whoop Racing event at Makerfaire 2023 - Hyderabad - along with Arul and Anubisrc.

We also setup a stall at the Makerfaire to introduce new people to the FPV racing hobby. It is a very rewarding experience to be a part of building the local drone racing community, from ground up.

On the personal front, I finally purchased my first home! This was probably the single most difficult and stressful thing I have had to deal with, this year, But I did it!
